The Faith Series

Portraits of Buddhist monks, priests and nuns

A series of images capturing monks, priests and nuns praying, meditating and making offerings. They are part of a larger series of images taken in Cambodia around the Siem Reap area.

Buddhist monks pray twice a day: early morning when they meditate and chant, and late afternoon when they pray and meditate.

Buddhist nuns will pray very early in the morning; that session is then followed by listen to a monk and sometimes a priest preaching. On Buddha days, nuns will gather in large numbers at a local monastery to pray and give offerings.

All these images were taking in Cambodia, essentially around the Siem Reap area.
