Description
The Image
Location
I took this shot at Wat Chau Srei Vibol, a temple and monastery about 30mn drive outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Chau Srei Vibol is situated about 17km east of Angkor Wat. It was built in the 11th century. An external moat surrounds the temple and a laterite wall is built inside the complex. A short climb brings you to the temple itself; very few tourists actually come here so once you have visited all the main temples this is a nice side excursion.
A modern monastery sits next to the temple and reuses some of original stones as part of its foundations.
